Romans 5:5 ...the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Infants that haven't learned to talk can understand Love. You don't have to go to seminary or learn greek to understand this. If it seems that I'm spending too much time on God's love, remember this is the Prime Directive. Forget everything else and focus on this until you feel comfortable with it.

I have never been accused of having a short attention span. When I first discovered that the Lord's Love was shed from my heart, I was fascinated.. I held the thought for months. This is one of the verses I pray back to the Lord. Not to remind Him, but to keep me focused on His Love.

Meister Eckhart, one of the most overeducated people of his time, recommended you find the mind you had before you were born. Before you had any memories or images or thoughts or knowledge or will of your own. That's when you knew only God's Love.

Jacob Boehme recommended if you want to see with God's eyes, and hear with God's ears, that you cast your mind into the 'nothing'. I like that word.

Here's the Lord's take on blindness and deafness.
Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house. (Ezekiel 12:2)

Lord have mercy on us. On another subject, in the newspaper tonight there's an article about some pastor that has devised a test to grade your Christianity. How sad. The world thinks if you imitate Christ, you will be like him and you will please God. So we have seminars on anger management, and books on morality so we can learn acceptable behavior. Marguerite Porette has called the virtues a demanding mistress - never satisfied - always demanding more... 'So you are in church twice a week? You are not *really* godly unless you are in church every time the doors are open.'
Lord have mercy on us.

This is a walking around meditation: Get in the presence. Locate the Lord's Love in your heart. Wonder. And watch the Lord's Love flow out. As you talk to people, keep one eye on God's Love in your heart. Remember you are talking to Jesus.

More Practice

Find a quiet spot. Disengage your rational mind. Get into the mind of your heart. Worship the Lord. If any thoughts distract you, ignore them and continue worshiping. Repeat as needed.
