Take no thought

'Take no thought for the things of the morrow' is evidence that you are ruled by the mind in your heart - by Christ-in-you. Like the ten commandments, this is not something you 'do'. This is how you recognize a child of God.

If you find yourself continually fretting about the future; your job, your income, or your retirement portfolio; you might want to re-evaluate your Christianity. Jesus says that if you have His Peace, you'll trust Him for these things. I might add that if you hear 'Christians' continually hammering the sins of 'those other people'; like I hear on the radio all the time, run the other way. This is evidence of people who believe in their head - not in their heart.

So how do you get from here to there?? The short answer is you can't. Only Jesus can open the eyes of your heart. In most people's lives, this is a one time event. It is not the same thing as salvation/born-from-above. Most people are very aware that they have experienced this - or not. Meister Eckhart called this event a breakthrough. The breakthrough event is the moment in time when the Lord's Light breaks forth in our heart.

If you do not have God's Peace in your heart, cast yourself on the Mercy of the Lord. Turn to Him and pray for His Light to break through. His promise is that He will hear your prayer. This is His plan for every one of His children.

Matthew 20:34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Matt 6:24-34 No man can serve two masters: ... Ye cannot serve God and [your self]. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on... For after all these things do the Gentiles seek... your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Isa 58:6-11 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? ... Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rearward. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
